When you find yourself visiting a new website for the first time, it’s a good idea to take the time to familiarize yourself with the general layout, how it’s organized and what types of items are offered. Every site has different layouts, but generally very user friendly. For example, our site is organized by Girls and Boys. Then, sub-categories for different designs (dresses, booties, hats etc.). By taking the time to learn the layout and explore your options, it can be quite helpful down the road when you’re trying to quickly navigate back and forth between different items without getting lost on our site.
Complete Guide to Choosing a Christening Outfit
After you’ve taken your time familiarize with the lay of the land, be sure to take a look at our Guide to Choosing a Christening Outfit. Filled with lots of useful information about different christening outfit designs, types of materials and different types of accessories. For example, many of our collections, such as the Jessica Collection, include different designs within the collection. They may differ in material and length. Within the Jessica Collection, we make a long silk gown, a silk dress and a short cotton dress with bloomers. After reading through our helpful guide, you would know a longer gown is considered very traditional, a silk dress is formal and a good length for little ones that are starting to walk or crawl and a shorter cotton dress is the perfect design for warmer weather.
Make a List
Many people, including myself, find making lists to be very helpful when trying to make an important decision. If you’re having a hard time narrowing down your options, make a list of your three favorite designs. Write down what you like about each design and why you were drawn to it. Consider if each design has the must-have accessories you want to complete your outfit. Many times, I’ve found myself talking to moms that are stuck between two designs. Often they ask me “Which design do you like best?” or “Will you just decide for me?!”. While I can’t make the decision, I try to offer as much advice as possible. Something that has proven helpful is when I tell them to compare the accessories from each collection. Do you like the booties and bonnet from one collection more than the other?
Customer Photo Gallery
Viewing our Customer Photo Gallery is something I highly recommend. Although we have many photos on our site, it can be helpful to view items on babies of all ages and sizes. Have you noticed how every baby has a different build? The baby that is modeling our Harrison Jumpsuit might be proportioned completely different than your little guy. Scrolling through our customer photo gallery, you’ll see babies of ALL different sizes wearing our outfits, so you’ll probably find a baby boy that is closer in size to yours wearing a jumpsuit. It’s also helpful to see how items photograph in different kinds of light (outside, studio, in a church). It’s also a good place to find inspiration for christening photos. Plus, it’s just fun scrolling through to look at all the adorable little guys and gals in their outfits!
Awhile back, we started featuring Christening Stories of Baby Beau & Belle christenings. We hoped it would give parents a place to share their experiences, from the process of choosing an outfit to planning the event. Not only has it been a great help to parents (especially parents planning a christening for the first time!), it’s turned into one of our favorite corners our site.
From the christening venue and decor to the ceremony, each story includes an array of lovely photos. Photos that will be sure to inspire you as you think ahead to your own child’s christening. You also get to hear first hand from each mom about their experience. They share helpful details about their process of finding the perfect christening outfit. They talk about what they were looking for in an outfit (some moms already had a very specific design in mind!), how far in advance they ordered and what they liked about the design they ultimately choose.
The little ones featured are from all over the world…from Australia to Canada to Lebanon! One story in particular features a little boy from Langton Green, England. Jake was christened wearing our Harrison Jumpsuit and matching sweater. Jake is the youngest of three children, so his mom Sharron already had experience planning! She talked about what she did differently compared to when she planned her older children’s christenings. She had very helpful suggestions for other parents who are starting to plan, such as “booking the church as soon as possible” and providing “lots of games for the children to play to keep them out of mischief”. Sharron hired a photographer friend (another common suggestion from parents) to capture moments throughout the day, and she certainly had many cute photos to share of Jake in his Harrison Jumpsuit.
