Zoe was christened this past September in Sydney, Australia wearing the Grace Christening Gown & Bonnet when she was 6 months old. Her mom, Narelle, was kind to share beautiful photos from Zoe’s Christening Day and also shared a few details about the search for the perfect christening gown and the planning that went into creating a special day for her youngest daughter.
What did you like about Zoe’s Grace Christening Gown?
Zoe’s Grace Gown was such a beautiful quality. The length of the dress was perfect and the pattern in the dress was beautiful. I have also never seen a bonnet like that before and that was one of my reasons for buying the gown. It was absolutely gorgeous and we received so many beautiful compliments on the day about her dress!
Before you started looking for a christening outfit, did you already have a design or color in mind that you wanted? Did your church have any requirements for the christening outfit?
I was really wanting a gown that was long in length and a gown that came with a bonnet. Our church requires that the dress, bonnet, towel etc had to be white.
What do you plan to do with Zoe’s Grace Gown now that the event is over?
I have three daughters – my two older daughters have their own christening gowns which are packed away. Like theirs, I will pack Zoe’s away and give it to her when she is older to keep for herself and maybe she will pass it onto her children one day.
How old was Zoe when she was christened?
6 months – I believe it is the perfect age. Not too little, not too old.
How far in advance did you start planning your event? What were the first steps you took?
I started planning Zoe’s christening 2 months before her date. I first booked the church, then the restaurant. After that then I bought her outfit and everything that I had to get for the day.
Did you have any special family traditions that were incorporated into your day?
No, but we have any Italian background so it’s a big day. All of our family gets together and we book out the whole restaurant and have a big celebration.
Was there a theme to your event/decor?
White, gold and pink.
How many family & friends celebrated with you?
We had around 80 adults and kids celebrate with us.
Do you have any suggestions for other parents as they start planning their child’s christening?
Planning everything in advance really helped. Also, making sure you double check everything and not to stress and enjoy the day!
Looking back, was there a favorite moment from the day?
Her whole day was amazing. Her church ceremony was perfect and her day was filled with happiness. She was truly blessed. It was all perfect!! Also, I though I’d add that we are from Sydney, Australia … Everyone was saying how much they loved her gown and how perfect it was.
Zoe also had two perfect godmothers who are in her photos.
